Samuel Calvin McLanahan Inducted Into Pit & Quarry Hall Of Fame
HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa., March 19, 2013 – McLanahan has long had a history of being a pioneer in the aggregate industry, so it was no surprise when Samuel Calvin McLanahan, second generation family member, was nominated and inducted into the inaugural Pit and Quarry Hall of Fame.
A induction ceremony was held in San Antonio, Texas, on March 17, 2013, prior to the start of the popular aggregate industry trade show, AGG1. Accepting on behalf of Samuel Calvin was his great-great grandson and sixth generation family member, Sean McLanahan, who is currently the executive vice president and chief administrative officer for the company. Sean shared with those in attendance Samuel Calvin’s innovation and direction in shaping today’s company.
Other members of the inaugural class included: Emil Deister, Sr., Deister Machine Co.; LeRoy Hagenbauch, Philippi-Hagenbuch; Charles Ireland, Vulcan Materials Co.; Charles Luck, Jr., Luck Stone; Paul Mellott, Jr., Mellott Company; and Arthur Taggart, Columbia and Yale Universities.
