McLanahan Replaces Old Feeder with Custom Vibrating Grizzly
McLanahan recently replaced a decades-old Universal feeder with a 44x20 Vibrating Grizzly Feeder for processing ROM material in Texas. The feeder was built to the same dimensions as the old feeder so it could fit the existing layout of the site. As Universal is a brand name within McLanahan, Regional Sales Manager Jeff McGovern said it was an easy decision to replace the old Universal feeder with one of the same rugged and durable feeders McLanahan offers under its Universal line.
“It was pretty much a no-brainer,” McGovern said.
This custom Vibrating Grizzly Feeder features pan style cartridges in place of the grizzly sections, essentially making it a pan feeder. Unlike a traditional Vibrating Grizzly Feeder, which has grizzly sections with openings near the discharge end to scalp out finer material, this feeder conveys all the material into the crusher.
However, McLanahan included provisions in the design of the feeder that would allow the customer to install grizzly sections later if they desired.
McLanahan Vibrating Grizzly Feeders are ideal for feeding material in primary crushing applications, including aggregates, coal, mining ore, and more. When the grizzly sections are included, it reduces the size of the crusher needed by removing fine material ahead of the crusher. When grizzly sections are not required, the feeder can be used to convey material to a wider secondary crusher.
