Dewatering Augers remove settled sand captured by Collection Augers as part of a channel sand-manure separation system. The auger conveys clean, separated sand out of the collection channel and onto a stack pad.
By recovering sand and cleaning it for re-use, dairies are able to reduce their sand inventory. Dewatering and cleaning sand, as opposed to capturing it in the manure stream for eventual disposal, enables dairy producers to save money. Additionally, processing and separating sand reduces the need for producers to enter and clean out confined spaces that can become filled with sand.
