Phosphate

Phosphates are the naturally occurring form of the element phosphorus. In mineralogy and geology, phosphate refers to a rock or ore containing phosphate ions. Phosphate rock is a general term that refers to an ore with high concentrations of phosphate minerals. It is the major resource mined to produce phosphate fertilizers for the agricultural sector. Phosphate is also used in animal feed supplements, food preservatives, anti-corrosion agents, cosmetics, fungicides, ceramics and water treatment. The largest use of phosphate is the production of fertilizer. Phosphate is often applied with electrochemical conversion coatings to aid in the control of rust and prevention of corrosion on ferrous materials.

McLanahan Corporation provides equipment that is capable of processing phosphates during both the dry and wet processing stages. Equipment including Roll Crushers, DDC-Sizers, Impact Crushers, Feeders and Sampling Systems process the phosphate ore in the early stages. Our lines of rotary and screening equipment, as well as Pumps, Cyclones and more are used to continue the phosphate classifying and separation process.
