Acquisitions

At McLanahan Corporation, we strive to continually improve our ability to help customers do more with their resources. To help further extend the company’s range of products and services, McLanahan has strategically acquired several companies. Each acquisition was made with better service to customers in mind. The following acquisitions have been made:

HSS Sampling – 1998

HSS Sampling Systems, with its full line of accurate and highly respected sampling solutions, was acquired in 1998. HSS Sampling Systems developed Single and Multi-Stage Sampling Systems. Their commitment to meeting customer standards and design regulations quickly made them one of the most respected lines of sampling equipment in the United States. McLanahan made the acquisition of HSS Sampling to help them offer a more complete processing system to customers. Mineral producers can now come to McLanahan for systems that collect highly accurate samples. Under McLanahan, the line has been expanded to include other types of sampling crushers and sample processing solutions.

LPT Group – 2001

McLanahan acquired the equipment division of Linatex North America in 2001 and formed what was then known as LPT Group in Gallatin, Tenn. The addition of LPT Group added an established line of wet and sand processing equipment, including equipment such as Dewatering Screens, based on the Velco design; Pumps; Hydrocylcones and Separators™; Hydrosizers™; Flat-Bottom Classifiers and more. Since the acquisition, the LPT Group name has dissolved and the group went on to form the backbone of McLanahan’s modern wet processing line. Today, the engineers and sales experts from LPT are still a major part of McLanahan Corporation and are able to provide expertise in a variety of wet processing applications.

Universal Engineering Corporation – 2012

On January 1, 2012, McLanahan Corporation officially acquired Universal Engineering Corporation of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Founded in 1906, Universal brought an extensive line of rugged, durable feeders and crushers to the McLanahan line, including Apron Feeders, Vibrating Feeders, Wobbler Feeders, Jaw Crushers, Impact Crushers and more. In addition to this recognized line, McLanahan also acquired knowledgeable and talented employees with an extensive background in this equipment. Today, Universal is a brand name within McLanahan Corporation and continues to give customers the world-class products and services that they have come to expect.

Eagle Iron Works – 2012

Eagle Iron Works was founded in 1872 by brothers George and Lawrence Aulmann in Des Moines, Iowa, and it has since become one of the leading companies in the aggregate industry for washing and classifying equipment. Ted Aulmann, son of George, managed the business through its major expansions in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1972, Ted’s son-in-law, Andrew Krantz, took over as company president . Eagle Iron Works remained a family-owned business until his retirement in 2011 at the age of 97.

In November 2012, McLanahan Corporation purchased the assets of Eagle Iron Works. Under the name EIW, LLC, McLanahan continues the long history of product durability and quality that Eagle Iron Works has become known for, while incorporating McLanahan’s values, service and support. As part of the McLanahan family of companies, EIW offers engineering, support, spare parts and more. For more on Eagle Iron Works, please visit www.eiwllc.com.
